By Adeenag Baloch

How has the world changed? Those who had no voice in the past are now being heard in the most prestigious places. Of course I am pointing to the US Department of State and its recent comment on Genocide in Balochistan.

Hundreds of computers and smartphones from US to GCC countries, Europe to India and even in mainland Balochistan, were used by Baloch activists sitting at their homes, logged in to twitter accounts to force the most powerful country to comment on Balochistan issue. It is a great success of Baloch activism. It reflects how Baloch movement has grown up and how it has disassociated itself with past mainly tribal struggle. Let me first comment on the much waited comment.

The first came the question and a précised and well worded:

@Cadet1081 : @USAUrdu# AskState : "Pakistan is committing a genocide of Baloch Nation. Why US does not intervene and make us get our freedom?"

At the sacred altar of Chinese interests in Balochistan Pakistan military slaughtered more than nine prominent Baloch political workers under detention and dumped their tortured bodies on different location cross Balochistan during Chinese premier, Wen Jiabao’s three days visit to Islamabad after India on December 17, 2010. And surprisingly the state controlled private media was vigorously giving coverage to these massacres right after every bet of news of Chinese premier activities in Islamabad. The motive behind it was to show the Chinese that Pakistan is doing everything to protect the Chinese interests in Balochistan even if it has to flow the river of blood in Balochistan. Mehboob Wadhela and Master Arif were among the prominent bulwarks that stood against the Chinese imperialistic interests in Gwadar embraced the martyrdom.

COMMENT: Washed away by the tide of history
Posted by admin on 2011/12/31 19:49:52 (236 reads)

By Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur

The Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtun children are made to read and revere Mohammad bin Qasim, Mahmud Ghaznavi, the Mughals and the heroes of Pakistani wars with India while nothing is taught about their own history, heroes or culture as if these nations had no history, no heroes, and no culture prior to August 14, 1947

When colonisers occupy a place, as in Australia, the Americas, Balochistan, Kurdistan and Palestine, the indigenous people are dispossessed and denied their inherent rights exercised since eons. The colonists rely primarily on force; however, to ensure permanent supremacy they try to eradicate their indigenousness, culture and history. They employ the lethal tool of demographic changes to physically occupy, dominate and exploit the new land. Needless to remind that Jinnah ordered forcible annexation of Balochistan in March 1948.

BALOCHISTAN: Apologies and its aftermaths

The Baloch are facing the state oppression since the forceful annexation of Balochistan, back on 27th March 1948 against the will of its inhabitants. They have been deliberately kept deprived from education, health and other basic necessities, so that they could never be able to compete with rest of Pakistan. On the other hand the state is plundering the natural resources of Balochistan, such as gas, coal, copper, gold etc., while the sons of soils live under poverty line.

The Baloch national movement is not a new factor. The Baloch nation had fought the Turks, Portuguese, Mongols and British, before the birth of Pakistan. There is always a possibility to change the future but it is impossible to change the written pages of history. Prior to the British departure from the region, Balochistan was declared as an Independent country on 11th august 1947. But soon after that Pakistan invaded Balochistan and snatched the liberty of people. Today Pakistani rulers are trying hard to hide their injustices and crimes committed in Balochistan, and for saving their faces, labeling the genuine struggle as foreign funded, but they have never been able to produce any evidence of foreign involvement.

We still remember Pakistani apologies to Nawab Babu Nauroz Khan his betrayal in the name of holy Quran.

I asked, why do we come? Do you know mother, I always tried to ask you that why you gave me birth when you know very well that we are deprived and living without rights.

Today I am in mountain and have many unanswered questions for you but I know, you may reply me that we are sent in world for living in such circumstance and one day time will judge for innocents. How can I forget when my little brother was playing in street and after two months we received his dead body? Have you forgotten when you and I both were running and knocking each door for justice and statesman were laughing at us. Instead of help us they were making jokes and telling that our brother is big criminal.

Your son and my little brother counted in list of criminals.

Ohhh…. How was possible a boy who was only 16 years old and became criminal?
